A Mile of Pennies & Mite Boxes

For the Global Missions

There are many ways to engage with the global Church and to invite children to know about the realities faced by our brothers and sisters around the globe. Thank you for your missionary heart!

  • When Pauline Jaricot, foundress of the Society for the Propagation of the Faith, learned of the financial struggles of a missionary group in Paris, she hatched a simple yet impactful idea: to invite others to pray for the Mission and contribute a penny each week to support their efforts.

A Mile of Pennies

  • The Mite Box is a response to understanding the needs of children in other areas of the globe and is inspired by Jesus’ parable of the "Widows Mite." It encourages children to give from their hearts.

The Missionary Childhood Association (MCA) uses 100% of your tax-deductible donations to support impoverished children worldwide. Here’s how to participate:

Step 1: Request your free Mite Boxes at wmo@archmil.org or 414-758-2283.

Step 2: Place the Mite Box in a visible spot and collect spare change or cash during Lent, Advent, or World Mission Month.

Step 3: Send your donations to the MCA, Archdiocese of Milwaukee, via check or online.

This project helps raise awareness about global needs and is perfect for families, schools, and parishes. Your contribution, like the "widow’s mite," can lend a helping hand to other children throughout the world!
